NFL Honors Civil Rights ‘Victim’ Weeks After Police Find No Evidence of Crime

Despite what their name says, the NFL has spent the last couple of months pandering to the liberals instead of playing football. To say the least, people have noticed as the NFL’s viewership has declined since their social justice campaign started. Now, the sports conglomerate is back in hot water after they showcased a Wisconsin girl who was a victim of a hate crime weeks after authorities found no evidence of a crime whatsoever.

As the story goes, in June, an 18-year-old Althea Bernstein was minding her own business when four generic white frat boys approached her car. Around 1 a.m., Bernstein claims the white men attacked her while screaming racist names. The story takes a dark turn as one of the men pours lighter fluid on her and supposedly set her on fire.

In the following weeks, the story would make headlines around the country. Bernstein was lifted within the civil rights movement as she appeared on morning talking shows like Good Morning America. Show after show, Bernstein would recount her ordeal in front of live audiences. They ate it up as anyone would. America wanted these four boys caught and justice to be dealt with.

While Bernstein continued her injustice campaign, the police quietly investigated the matter, wanting to know the true details of that night. What they found was not an act of violence, but an act of trickery. When the investigation was done in October, the Madison Police Department released a statement saying, “after an exhaustive probe, detectives were unable to corroborate or locate evidence consistent with what was reported.” In other words – it didn’t happen.

But the police might not always get it right, so the FBI and the Civil Rights Division both did their own separate investigations. What did they find?  The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Wisconsin said, “after reviewing all available evidence, authorities could not establish that the attack, as alleged by the complainant, had occurred.” Again, simply put – it didn’t happen.

Since the revelation, the Bernstein family has closed their door to interviews and media, continuing to claim their daughter’s innocence. And it appears the NFL also believes the family as they released a nice Instagram post referencing the folk tale of Althea Bernstein. There has yet to be word if the NFL would recognize the 149 officers who lost their lives in the line of duty last year alone.
