Fans are calling for Tyra Banks to be fired from her hosting gig on “Dancing With The Stars” after she made a major mistake while announcing the elimination on Monday night.
Fox News reported that during the show, Banks incorrectly announced on live television that “Cheer” coach Monica Aldama and her partner Val Chmerkovskiy were safe from elimination, when in reality, they were in the bottom two.
Banks made her mistake when she announced that Anne Heche and Keo Motsepe, and Vernon Davis and Peta Murgatroyd, were in the bottom two. This left Chrishell Stause and Gleb Savchenko confused about their fate as they remained onstage without being told if they were safe or not. Banks was forced to call back Aldama and Chmerkovksiy to face elimination alongside Heche and Motsepe, as they were the actual bottom two couples. Heche and Motsepe were subsequently sent home.
A visibly flustered Banks tried to place blame on the crew during the live show.
“There has been an error in the control room. This is the craziness of live TV,” Banks said amidst the chaos. “I’m so sorry. This is live TV.”
The supermodel later doubled down on Twitter, writing, “Wowzers. Live TV. Wrong name on cards. So challenging to deal with moments like these. But we power through.”

Chmerkovskiy, the professional dancer partner of Aldama, compared Banks’ error to the comedian Steve Harvey’s infamous blunder at the 2015 Miss Universe pageant, when he announced the wrong winner.
“Just got Steve Harvey’d #dwts,” he tweeted.

Banks was already on thin ice with fans, given the fact that she had replaced longtime hosts Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews after they were fired back in July. Fans have been particularly angry about Bergeron’s firing, since he had hosted the show since it premiered way back in 2005.
After Banks’ latest mistake, fans were quick to call for ABC to rehire Bergeron and Andrews.
“Bring them back!!!!” one fan tweeted. “Tom wouldn’t have screwed up!!!!!!#DWTS you guys ruin a good things by letting go the real hosts they had chemistry. Tyra just pulled a Steve Harvey.”

“You know who wouldn’t blame the ‘control room?'” a third fan added alongside a photo of Bergeron.
