We previously reported [1] that Ghostbusters star Rick Moranis was punched in the head in New York City on Thursday morning in an unprovoked attack. Now, Captain America himself Chris Evans is speaking out to give his thoughts on the incident.
Moranis was walking near his apartment on the Upper West Side on Thursday morning when he was suddenly punched in the head by a stranger who remains at large at this time. The entire incident did not sit well with Evans.
“My blood is boiling. Find this man,” Evans, 39, tweeted. “You don’t touch Rick Moranis.”

Chilling surveillance footage showed Moranis get slugged in the face just a few steps away from his apartment. His representative spoke out afterwards to confirm that the reclusive star was indeed the victim of an attack, adding that he is doing alright.
“Rick Moranis was assaulted on the Upper West Side yesterday,” Troy Bailey told Page Six [2]. “He is fine but grateful for everyone’s thoughts and well wishes.”
Moranis shot to fame in the 1980s by starring in movies like Ghostbusters, Spaceballs, and Honey I Shrunk The Kids. He has largely avoided the limelight since stepping away from his movie career in the 1990s.
Moranis has also dabbled in music, earning a Grammy nomination in 2005 for best comedy album for “The Agoraphobic Cowboy.”
“The music is pretty simple: It’s, you know, it’s country music,” Moranis said at the time. “There’s a couple of melodies that are OK, I guess.”
He released another comedy album in 2013 called “My Mother’s Brisket & Other Love Songs,” and he opened up that same year about how much he loves life alone.
“I don’t particularly like travel, and I do like home. I like to consume music alone and films alone. I read books alone. Why wouldn’t I consume other art alone?” he said.
“I always eat earlier than everyone, and I don’t like restaurants,” Moranis added. “By the time I take everything out of the food they serve, primarily the butter and the salt, it’s not very tasty. But I wasn’t always like this. I don’t recommend this as a lifestyle to a young person.”
