Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s bitter custody trial just took yet another turn, as he has called a former co-star of the actress’ to testify.
Entertainment Tonight [1] reported that Jillian Armenante, who costarred with Jolie in 1999’s Girl, Interrupted and 2007’s A Mighty Heart, has been placed on Pitt’s witness list. She is expected to testify “regarding her interactions and communications with and observations of Petitioner [Jolie], Respondent [Pitt] and/or the children,” according to the witness list.
Pitt’s 21-person witness list, which was filed on September 21, also includes various psychologist. Jolie’s witness list only has seven names on it, with all of them overlapping with people on Pitt’s list. Alyce LaViolette, who previously testified in the Jodi Arias murder trial, is one person who is expected to testify on the behalf of both Pitt and Jolie.
Pitt and Jolie are the parents of six children: Maddox, 19, Pax, 16, Zahara, 15, Shiloh, 14, and 12-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox. The couple split in 2016, yet they still have not been able to come up with a custody agreement regarding their children.
Back in June, a source claimed that they were “on the same page” about their desire to co-parent.
“Brad and Angelina have come a very long way and they’re finally in a place where they both want to work together to raise their kids,” the source said. “They have no plans to reconcile and any communication between them is regarding their children’s needs and future.”
“Brad and Angelina want their kids to be healthy and happy and to have the support of both of their parents,” the insider added. “It has taken years to heal and they finally are in a place where they can co-parent in a really healthy way.”
Since then, however, the divorce battle appears to have gone off the rails again.
“Tensions have escalated between Brad and Angelina, with family therapy no longer taking place,” a source told US Weekly [2] earlier this month.
“Brad wants 50/50 joint physical and legal custody of the kids. Angelina has been unagreeable to those terms,” the source added. “[She] will only agree to talk about an agreement if the home base for the children isn’t Los Angeles. The younger kids are in school in Los Angeles, which Angelina has always been opposed to. They are very smart and are eager to attend school in person [amid the COVID-19 pandemic].”
