Biden Wants Second Debate Canceled Due To COVID

After the results of the first debate where Joe Biden felt out of breath and out of sync with the current issues, the former VP is now searching for ways to get out of the next one. While Biden claimed he would debate President Trump if doctors said it was safe, now Biden is taking his words back, saying he would not debate Trump if he still tested positive for COVID-19.

Given the social media society that we live in, it isn’t out of the normal to see President Trump tweet during the late hours of the night. But what was interesting was when he announced to the world that he and the First Lady had tested positive for COVID-19. Without hesitation, the world reacting accordingly with some sending love and other sending hate. Still, the President has since undergone treatment at Walter Reed and has returned to the White House.

As for Joe Biden, he is still wondering if the second debate is going to happen. According to comments he made in Maryland, it appears he hopes it doesn’t. Talking to reporters, Biden said, “I think if he still has COVID, then we shouldn’t have a debate. I think we were gonna have to follow very strict guidelines. Too many people have been infected. It’s a very serious problem, so I will be guided by the guidelines of the Cleveland Clinic and what the docs say is the right thing to do. If and when he shows up for debate.”

While Biden seems to be slipping back and forth on his availability, the second presidential debate is scheduled for October 15 in Miami. There is also scheduled a third and final debate between President Trump and Biden a week later on the 22nd, but again – this rest solely on the willingness of Biden to attend.

Some of the Democratic party are calling for their nominee to debate on the 15th since CNN polls show Biden with a commanding lead over President Trump in the upcoming election. Being CNN, Trump’s campaign was quick to fight back on the number with his campaign press secretary saying, “They [CNN] don’t have the best, most stellar reputation for being real news.”
