The stage is set in the middle of a pandemic, a presidential campaign, and a political polarization not seen since the Civil War for the Senate to take up the confirmation of Judge Amy Coney Barrett for the Supreme Court. The Democrats will try anything to deny her the seat.

OAN fills in some details, “Supreme Court nominee Judge Amy Coney Barrett’s confirmation hearing is set to begin on Monday. According to details released by the Senate Judiciary Committee, two GOP senators from Indiana and a former law professor will introduce her to the people to kick off the hearing. Sen. Todd Young, Sen. Michael Braun and former Notre Dame law professor Patricia O’Hara will open the hearing with a five minute speech on Judge Barrett’s qualifications. The judge will then give her own opening statement to the committee. Both senators met with the Supreme Court nominee in recent weeks as part of her circuit to meet with lawmakers. They have spoken about her qualifications in the past, remarking on her deep understanding of the role of a judge. The hearing is set to be a hybrid mix of in-person and virtual participation. Some senators are expected to join via teleconference, as several key senators like Thom Tillis recently tested positive for COVID-19.”

The vote count looks solid for the Republicans, as only Collins of Maine looks like a vote against. But she does this in the knowledge that she won’t be a deciding factor, as 52 other Republican Senators, including Mitt Romney, will likely vote for Barrett’s confirmation.

That won’t stop the Democrats from making up all kinds of fantastic fantasies on how Barrett is a direct threat to the republic. What they really mean is that if Biden wins next month the new solid conservative Supreme Court majority will be a direct threat to the Democrats, hard left, and the possible Biden administration’s plans to radically altar the very constitutional fabric of the nation.

Barrett has a stellar judicial reputation, superior legal knowledge, and a spotless personal background. Which all mean she is anathema to Democrats. Get ready for them to pull every dirty trick they can think of to stop her confirmation. It won’t work. Welcome Justice Barrett.
