US President Donald Trump will be present at the moment of signing the agreement between Kosovo and Serbia in the White House on Friday.
According to the announcement, Trump will be part of the meeting at the moment of signing the agreement in the morning (according to the time in Washington), and will then hold a trilateral meeting with the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Avdullah Hoti and the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic.
The announcement does not specify what agreement will be signed, but the parties had announced on Thursday that it is an economic agreement.
The Prime Minister of Kosovo had said that this is a big step towards the final agreement, while the Serbian president had added that they did not accept the point of the agreement which, according to him, provided for the recognition of Kosovo.
Meanwhile, the American mediators saw Thursday’s developments as positive steps in economic normalization.
