While Biden called a lid at 8:34 a.m. again on Saturday, September 26 and was snoring away in his basement after taking his Geritol, President Trump was the Energizer Bunny, jetting across the country, campaigning as well as doing his job as the 45th and soon-to-be 46th President of the United States.
The day started out early for Trump as it usually does after a late night. At 12:15 a.m., he was Tweeting about issuing a Presidential Permit for the A2A Cross-Border Rail [1] between Alaska and Canada. At 1:00 a.m., he tweeted a photo of a Trump crowd at a rally.
He was back to tweeting at 8:14 a.m. talking about the Russia hoax. Then he issued a presidential message on the National Day of Prayer. He said, “The trials and tribulations the American people have faced over the past several months have been great. Yet, as we have seen time and again, the resolve of our citizenry—fortified by our faith in God—has guided us through these hardships and helped to unite us as one Nation under God.”
Around 5:00 p.m., he was in the Rose Garden at The White House announcing his nomination of Amy Coney Barrett as his nominee for the Supreme Court.
A few hours later, he was at a rally in the rain in Pennsylvania, talking to an excited and boisterous crowd. Both Trump and his supporters were clearly having a great time.
At the rally, Trump joked about Biden calling a lid all the time and not campaigning most days. Looks like Biden has called a lid 22 days since nominating Kamala Harris as VP on August 11th.
On these days, Biden made no public appearances. He didn’t do much except go go church and hold some virtual fundraisers. During the same time, Trump went to 17 different states on 24 trips to campaign, sometimes going to several states in one day.
At a rally in Jacksonville, Florida on Thursday night, Trump said, “Did you see he (Biden) did a ‘lid’ this morning again? A lid is when you put out word you’re not going to be campaigning today. So, he does a lid all the time. I’m working my ass off. I’m in Ohio. I’m in Texas. I’m in Florida. I’m in Michigan. I’m in Wisconsin. Supposing he never campaigns and he wins, you know how badly I’m going to feel? I’m working hard.”
Working hard and hardly working. That’s Trump and Biden. Complete opposites.
One is unafraid, transparent and willing to answer questions.
The other continues to hide in his basement and expects people to believe he will magically emerge from his house after months of hiding and have the stamina and mental capacity to be the leader of the free world.
