Kosovo has a clear goal to become a NATO member, prime minister Avdullah Hoti told NATO secretary general Jens Stoltenberg.
Stoltenberg welcomed Hoti at the NATO headquarters in Brussels on Tuesday, one day after the second round [1] of Kosovo-Serbia talks brokered by the EU.
“Kosovo has clear goals on its path to Euro-Atlantic integration and to become a NATO member as soon as possible,” Hoti stated [2]after the meeting.
He stressed the importance of NATO’s mission in Kosovo – KFOR – for peace and stability in the region.
Stoltenberg said NATO will continue to provide support for peace and security in Kosovo.
It’s not clear whether the two leaders discussed the recent case of joint KFOR-Serbian army border check [3] inside Kosovo territory.
