A very strange, and creepy thing happened on CNN during an Anderson Cooper interview with Jacob Blake’s father.
Blake is the man who was shot in the back 7 times after he resisted arrest in Kenosha, WI. He also reportedly had a knife in his hand during the incident.
When Cooper asked Mr. Blake about what the police were saying happened with his son, Mr. Blake began rambling about Brussel Sprouts, and how much he doesn’t like them.
Anderson looked shocked but tried to recover, by asking Mr. Blake if he just didn’t want to discuss that topic.
Instead of responding to Anderson’s question, Mr. Blake rambled again about Brussel Sprouts.

If Mr. Blake was just trying to deflect a question he was not legally allowed to answer, he didn’t go about it the right way.
At first, when I watched this, I thought he didn’t realize that he was on TV, and was speaking to someone off-camera. Then I wondered if he had some vodka in that water bottle, and then I grew concerned he was having a “medical episode.”
All in all, just a very bizarre exchange.
Although in all fairness, you can’t really blame the guy – average people don’t have PR savvy and slick communication skills like all these TV pundits – nor should they.
Regardless, it was a very strange moment.
