A beloved school teacher murdered a sex offender and then confessed to it on Facebook.
The incident happened in Nebraska, and the teacher’s name is James Fairbanks. The registered sex offender he murdered was Mattieo Condoluci.
In his Facebook confession, Fairbanks says that he saw Mr. Condoluci’s photo on a sex offender list of an area he was looking to move to. He decided to drive by the area, where he spotted Mr. Condoluci “pretending” to wash his car while leering at children who were playing nearby.
Mr. Fairbanks said this made him feel “sick,” and then he noticed that Mr. Condoluci had a children’s playset in his backyard, with no fencing, so kids had easy access.
This was the final straw, and Mr. Fairbanks, who has had his own issues with molestation, killed Mr. Condoluci.
The email from sender “Stop Predators,” said “I killed Matteio Condoluci Thursday May 14th.”
The anonymous sender said he or she had been looking for an apartment in the area when he discovered Condoluci on the Nebraska Sex Offender Registry. The sender described Condoluci as standing in his driveway pretending to wash his truck while staring at a group of children playing in the street.
“Having had my own experience with these type of predators I knw the damage he would do to those kids,” wrote the emailer.
“I’ve worked with kids for years who have been victimized and I couldnt (sic) in good conscience allow him to do it to anyone else while I had the means to stop him”.
The emailer also wrote “I know in this messed up judicial system that means I will face far more severe punishment for stopping him then (sic) he did for raping KIDS.”
Condoluci was convicted in Sarpy County 13 years ago of sexual assault of a child.
Monday, Omaha police confirmed they were looking into the authenticity of the email while they continue to look at Condoluci’s death as a homicide.
Now, sex offenders are feeling threatened and want the registry changed so people can’t “hunt” them down.
