Reports: Turkey Sending Syrian Mercenaries To Azerbaijan To Fight Armenia...Ankara, Baku Deny

News reports claim Turkey is sending Syrian mercenaries to Azerbaijan to help fight Armenian force in the Nagorno-Karabakh ‘frozen conflict’ of the Soviet Union which has flared to dangerous levels in the past week.

“Turkey is preparing the transfer of militants from the so-called Syrian Free Army to Azerbaijan. To this end, registration points for mercenaries have opened in Jenderis, Raju and Afrin”, – reported Firat news agency.

The contract with the militants will be signed for six months. Each of them received $3.5 thousand in a month. When and how many militants will be sent to Azerbaijan is not known, reported News Front.

Ankara and Baku have denied the reports.

“It has nothing to do with reality,” a Turkish ‘official’ told Russian state news agency TASS.

An official Azerbaijani spokesperson also refuted these allegations, telling TASS it was “false information and fake.”

The world woke up to the seriousness of the conflict over the weekend as an Azerbaijani officer threatened to strike an Armenian nuclear plant, causing a nuclear disaster.
