Mutual recognition between Kosovo and Serbia is off the table, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic insists.
Vucic told Reuters that Serbia is willing to engage in dialogue with Kosovo “in good faith,” but there will be no “white flag.” He expressed more interest in focusing on the “free flow of capital, people and services.”

Normalizing their relationship is a precondition for both Kosovo and Serbia’s EU accession. Dialogue between the two was halted after Kosovo imposed a 100% tax on Serbian goods, in retaliation for Serbia’s continuing derecognition campaign against Kosovo.
Talks are expected to resume after Kosovo’s newly formed government lifted all reciprocity measures on June 6.
