Before everyone goes the way of the conspiracy, with more research, we are learning that the bats on the U.S. quarter don’t have anything to do with COVID-19 coronavirus but to see it as a true story will have individuals questioning the decision.

Then this story came along, that many of us missed and didn’t give any attention — a bat on the back of our quarter. Talk about weird.

“2020 is off to a rough start but things will turn around in February when the bat quarters come out,” tweeted author Alanna Massey on Tuesday. The tweet has since racked up over 17,000 likes.
“Finally I can pay gothly,” writes one fan.
“This is the only currency I intend to carry from now on,” tweets another.

“The design is intended to promote awareness [of] the species’ threatened status due to habitat loss and commercial hunting,” reads a description by the US Mint, which began the popular coin series in 2010.
