A lot of people are asking why. If you look around the world and notice the destruction you can definitely see a pattern.
Let’s start in Australia. Were you shocked when the images started pouring out of Australia of the bigger than life wildfires? Most of them were set by truant teenagers and criminals but were made possible by an unprecedented lack of rainfall.
Then there is the swarm of locusts attacking crops in East Africa, Pakistan and India. Bloomberg reported [1] that the locust swarms ravaging East Africa are the size of cities. This is an area of the world already severely impacted by food scarcity. Scientists blame cyclone activity for the swarms.
Enter COVID-19, otherwise known as coronavirus.
As of this posting, there are over 200,000 cases worldwide and the growth rate has nations shutting down their borders and entire economies have been brought to a standstill. The fear is that because COVID-19 is so contagious, it could devastate the healthcare system of our developed nation and kill many more people than the flu does annually.

What is bringing all of this on? The Bible is the best place to search for answers!!
2 Chronicles 7:13-15 [4] says When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command locusts to devour the land or send a plague among my people, 14if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 15Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place.
We have entered a time of judgment: for our participation in and promotion of abortion, dereliction of duty in caring for the poor, widows and infirm, and turning our backs on God by allowing sexual perversion to become so rampant that now our children are addicted to pornography and involved in sexual sins once thought only to impact adults.
The answer is for us to turn from our wicked ways and beg God for forgiveness and then wait for Him to heal our land. That means breaking our allegiance with the enemy. Look to God’s word, decide to become obedient and repent.
If you don’t know Jesus, pray the sinner’s prayer (this one is by John Bartlett [5])
Dear God, I know that I am a sinner and there is nothing that I can do to save myself. I confess my complete helplessness to forgive my own sin or to work my way to heaven. At this moment I trust Christ alone as the One who bore my sin when He died on the cross. I believe that He did all that will ever be necessary for me to stand in your holy presence. I thank you that Christ was raised from the dead as a guarantee of my own resurrection. As best as I can, I now transfer my trust to Him. I am grateful that He has promised to receive me despite my many sins and failures. Father, I take you at your word. I thank you that I can face death now that you are my Savior. Thank you for the assurance that you will walk with me through the deep valley. Thank you for hearing this prayer. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
Now tell a friend, join a church and get baptized!!! And welcome to the family.
