Calls have been growing over the past few weeks for former First Lady Michelle Obama to run for president or Vice President. Now, former White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon is addressing this by saying that Michelle would not be able to beat Donald Trump in November, despite what liberals think.
Raw Story reported that Bannon said this during an interview with Fox Business host Maria Bartiromo, who asked him about the Democratic primaries. After Bannon guessed that Hillary Clinton may still jump into the race at the last minuted, Bartiromo said Democrats might even choose Michelle as their nominee at a brokered convention.
“I think if they go to the convention and they’re desperate and Bernie is way behind Donald Trump, the Obamas and the Clintons will look for any alternative to try to defeat president Trump,” Bannon replied.
“This is Trump’s Churchill moment,” he continued. “He’s got to bring the country together, which he’s doing. He’s got to confront not just the virus, but the economic contagion that’s coming out of China… He does that, you don’t need to worry about 2020.”

In this same interview, Bannon also said that black voters in the Democratic Party are “not buying” Sen. Bernie Sanders’ candidacy.
“They’re not buying the socialism,” he said. “They’re not buying the radicalism, they’re not buying the revolution. These are very practical, pragmatic people.”
“They are going to try to steal the nomination from Bernie again,” Bannon added. “That’s why I think many Bernie supporters will come to President Trump at the end of the day.”
Michelle has previously said that there is “zero chance” that she’d run for president because she has no interest in politics.
“Just between us, and the readers of this magazine — there’s zero chance,” Michelle told The National about the chances that she’d run. “There are so many ways to improve this country and build a better world, and I keep doing plenty of them, from working with young people to helping families lead healthier lives. But sitting behind the desk in the Oval Office will never be one of them. It’s just not for me.”
This hasn’t stopped liberals like filmmaker Michael Moore from calling for Michelle to run, however. Moore claimed that Michelle is the only person who could beat Trump in the election.
“Everybody watching this right now knows she is a beloved American and she would go in there and she would beat him,” Moore said. “She would beat him in the debates, he wouldn’t be able to bully her, he wouldn’t be able to nickname her. She takes the stage and she’s so powerful and so good you just look at that and think of course she could win.”
