The body of 15-month-old Evelyn Mae Boswell has been found and positively identified in Tennessee.
The little girl’s remains were found on Friday on property belonging to a relative in Sullivan County.
Last month, Evelyn’s mother, Megan Boswell, was charged with lying to investigators about her daughter’s disappearance.
Police say her statements have been “conflicting and inaccurate” and have actually made it more difficult for police to find the little baby. “Every time we talk to her, her story changes. I’m serious when I say that. Every single time,” said Sullivan County Sherrif Cassidy.
In addition, it took some 2-months for the family to report the child missing. And it wasn’t the mother who reported her missing, it was the grandfather.
It took 17 days to find little Evelyn’s body.
“As we feared, the remains have now been positively identified and are, in fact, those of the 15-month-old girl,” spokeswoman Leslie Earhart said in a video posted on Twitter. “We understand that Evelyn captured your hearts — she captured ours as well — but due to the fact that this is an ongoing investigation, we’re limited as to what details can be released.”
The statewide law enforcement agency is now assisting deputies in Sullivan County, where no one has been charged in the girl’s death as of early Thursday, Earhart said.
“As previously mentioned, we are not releasing additional details at this time,” Earhart wrote in an email to The Post. “No charges have been placed, and the investigation remains active and ongoing.” [New York Post [2]]
It doesn’t take Sherlock Holmes to figure out this mother had something to do with her daughter’s death. There’s no innocent mother on earth who wouldn’t report their toddler “missing.”
As a mother myself, this story just breaks my heart. That poor baby. May she rest peace comfortably in God’s arms.
