I know you’re probably scratching your heads on this, right?

If you are a parent, that means you are a full-time supporter of your kids, and if they play sports, you should be an active supporter, so that your children will see your commitment and do the same for their children.

In the case of former NBA player Dwayne Wade, he decided he wasn’t going to attend his son’s “state championship game” because the coach hasn’t played his son to his liking. This is the same NBA player that supports his other son for classifying himself as a girl.

What type of double standard is this? What if Wade’s loved ones treated him with this type of disrespect if he was benched while playing in the NBA? How would he have dealt with that as a player?

The answer should be to attend the game and talk to the coach to find out what’s the problem. Is it the player’s mechanics? Did they do something that was a detriment to the team inside the game or outside?

This sends the wrong message. Think of Wade’s son. He had to face not being in the game and his father not being there for support.

Wade’s statement didn’t fly with many Twitter users. Check out some of these comments:

D. Wade makes decisions off of impulse. Transferring Zaire to Sierra Canyon wasn’t a good idea at all. It sounded good, but he should have put him with a different school where he would be one of the go to players.

Absolutely pathetic that a father would not attend his son’s team’s game because the son has not (yet) earned playing time. And to announce it on national TV! Dwayne-What are you teaching your son?! Your values do not align with with those of high school sports or the CIF’s.

That’s not right. Chevalier is an excellent coach. He has to manage personnel like any other coach.

He’s childish and not setting a good example for his sons and daughters. But can’t expect much, he picks and chooses which child to support.

He’s noticeably better than several players that get time including Bronny. Not sure what happen. He was a starter. Then he got hurt snd sat out a few weeks. Rarely saw court time after that.

Any way you cut it, this was a huge mistake on Wade’s part, and he can’t walk it back because he missed the game. Sure he can apologize, but this is who the future Hall of Famer is, and the world knows it now.

Hopefully, his son won’t receive backlash from other team members or the coach for his father’s stupid antics.
