[VIDEO] Reporter’s “Snake Safety” News Story Goes Totally Wrong Live on the Air

By Missy Crane | February 7, 2020

Things went south quick for a young reporter who was doing a story on snake safety…ironically.

The incident happened in Australia, where a local news reporter was filming a segment about “snake safety” and ran into some serious trouble when the snake slithering around her shoulder decided to attack her microphone.

Sarah Cawte is a reporter for “Nine News” and wanted to educate the public on snake safety, especially due to all the snakes creeping around Down Under.

The serpent was just chilling out on her shoulder when all of a sudden it spotted the mic in her hand and got spooked.

The snake actually strikes the microphone 3 times while it was on her shoulder.

*shivers*

“My cameraman and this snake handler just stood there, and they thought it was hilarious,” Cawte said. “But it calmed down and I ended up getting the shot that I needed for my package and then as soon as that was done, I said to the snake handler, ‘Get it off me.'”

After this happened, I’d have hung up my “snake safety” classes and called it a day.

“You’re on your own everyone, I’m out!”
