Former First Lady Michelle Obama began the new year by receiving a major honor; she was the recipient of a Grammy award for the audiobook version of her bestselling memoir, Becoming.

This marks the third Grammy for the Obama household. Michelle’s husband, former president Barack Obama, won for the audiobook recordings of his memoirs “Dreams of My Father” and “The Audacity of Hope” in 2006 and 2008.

Obama’s win for best spoken word album beat out nominees John Waters and the Beastie Boys, among others. She did not attend the ceremonies. The text version of “Becoming” has sold millions of copies, and had the longest streak at No. 1 on Amazon for any book since “Fifty Shades of Grey” in 2012. Michelle Obama remains popular, years after her husband left the White House. She even beat out current First Lady Melania Trump to receive the honor of Most Admired Woman.

The Trump family has taken actions to try and tarnish the legacy of Michelle Obama. As we reported last week, President Trump announced a reversal to the former First Lady’s school lunch program. According to The Hill Newspaper, the current administration announced plans to roll back school lunch standards on vegetables and fruits that Mrs. Obama had vehemently promoted.

The Trump Administration said the Obama lunch plan put too many restrictions on districts, and that the schools should have more power to make their own rules since “they know their children best.”

“Schools and school districts continue to tell us that there is still too much food waste and that more common-sense flexibility is needed to provide students nutritious and appetizing meals. We listened and now we’re getting to work,” Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue said in a statement.
